Playa Ventanas is a truly hidden gem for international tourists, Resting in the middle of the Central Pacific coastline. If you are visiting Bahía Ballena, Uvita or Dominical, I strongly recommend visiting this beach. Even if you are staying in the Manuel Antonio area, I recommend making a trip to this zone to visit this beach and waterfalls like Uvita or Nauyaca.
Once you leave the main road to Ventanas Beach, you should be careful about the road. Depending on the time of the year you visit Playa Ventanas, you’ll find a small creek on the way. When I visited this beach, it was rainy season, so the tiny creek was unable for Sedan cars to cross. You don’t need a 4×4 vehicle. Just by having an SUV you’ll be fine.

- Hidden Gem Score (4/5):
I visited this beach during the weekend, so there were many people there and therefore people selling food and renting chairs and umbrellas. Since there are other beaches nearby that take the spotlight, like Bahia Ballena and Uvita, few tourists visit this beach. Usually, this beach is visited more by locals from the zone.
Playa Ventanas is not the prettiest beach or the beach with the whitest sand. But, “Ventanas” (translated to windows) are the main attraction. These are caves next to the beach where you can see the sea on the horizon, making it seem like you were watching from a window. If the tide is low, you can walk inside this cave toward the sea, making it a fantastic experience and an excellent spot for photos.
