The Central Pacific coastline of Costa Rica is very well known because of surf towns like Jacó and Hermosa. But also because of breathtaking beaches like Manuel Antonio. These beaches take all the attention, but there are a lot more beaches on that coastline. One of those beaches is Playa Palo Seco.
Located in the middle of Playa Hermosa and Manuel Antonio, this beach is a great option to stay and travel from there. You could visit nearby beaches like Manuel Antonio or Jacó and waterfalls like Uvita or Nauyaca.

Pros:
Playa Palo Seco is great if you want to go to a place not too crowded and to watch amazing sunsets! When I visited this place, I wanted exactly that! I wanted to visit a place that wasn’t as crowded as Manuel Antonio or Jacó.
Cons:
Even though I enjoyed my time on this beach, it’s essential to know the cons of this beach. If you want to go to a beach where you can swim, surf, or enjoy the water, this is not the best option. This beach has an open sea in front, so the tides are very strong. There are even signs that say, “Beware of the tides.” And the locals also suggest not to go too deep into the ocean.

You can still enjoy a long, almost empty beach and the fantastic sunsets! There are several places where you can stay right in front of the beach. When I went here, I stayed at the Cocomar Beachfront Hotel. It was a nice place to stay. My only complaint is the restaurant that it wasn’t so good. But overall, it was good. 8/10.
