Only 30 minutes away from the famous Tamarindo Beach, you’ll be able to find Playa Avellana. This beach is very famous for a bridge next to the beach that connects a hotel with the beach. Avellana beach is also very famous for the waves, so it’s normal to see many people surfing here.

Avellana beach is not considered a hidden gem, but it’s not as visited as other nearby beaches like Tamarindo. The beach is long and wide, so you’ll have plenty of space to play games or chill at the beach.

To visit the famous bridge above a mangrove, you can use this location from Google Maps: Puente Playa Avellana. If you can’t find the bridge with the location for some reason, you can always ask any local or look where most people are heading. This bridge is the access to a hotel, they allow the tourists to visit the bridge for free, but you can’t go all the way to the hotel.
If you would like to visit this beach and stay close, you don’t want to spend a lot. You can stay at the Veintisiete de Abril town. This is around 25min away, from which you can find very affordable options (a lot cheaper than Tamarindo).
